  1. Hi Nigel,
New to Melbourne (living in Doncaster).
Keen to get involved in Community Gardening and Seed swaps.
Being new, how does one get involved in the above?
Willing to spend dollars to get started e.g. buying seed/herbs/veg plants etc.
Also would like to get into worm farming – thereby reducing the amount of “waste” going to landfill.

    Look forward to your reply.

    Cheers

    • Hi Rob,

If you want a reply from Nigel, you will probably have to email him directly (nigel.philpot@manningham.vic.gov.au). But the obvious way for you to start is to come to one of these monthly events. Just come at 7pm, no need to bring anything to swap, talk with Nigel and others, and listen to the talk. The next talk (on Wednesday, 31st August) is entitled “Let’s plant ourselves a berry pie”.

    • Hi Rob. At Templestowe College we have a large permaculture garden, and while we don’t have private plots, we do have volunteer days if you want to get your hands dirty. If you ‘re interested, you can contact Jo, our volunteer coordinator at jo.skuse@outlook.com.
