Linda is a working mum of two teenage boys and has a dream of creating an edible forest garden, with a long-term view to creating a community garden next door. She has a massive space to work in, so there will be activities in the front and back yard areas.

There will be tree planting galore, with lots of sheet mulching and wicking bed action planned. The front will have a water-tank irrigated food forest planted out. The back area will become an edible oasis, complete with pond, chook system, greenhouse and compost bays. There will also be a zone-one kitchen garden area for wicking-bed produced leafy greens and veggies to keep Linda’s family well fed throughout the year.

During the day, there are a number of workshops planned: wicking beds – building and maintenance; water tank irrigation; chook care and tree planting.

If you could bring shovels, wheelbarrows and trowels, that would be good.
