They hope to transform the southern part of the garden in to a food forest with fruit and nut trees and understory planting. The plan is to dig a swale to deal with the sloping site and maximise water collection for the orchard, clear existing vegetation and plant 6 trees including avocado, hazelnut, cherry and plum. There will be: a mini workshop on how to choose fruit trees and why these particular species were chosen for the garden; a workshop on how to build bee hotels to attract native bees and other beneficial insects to the garden; and a talk on making your own compost bays.

The property already has a thriving vegetable garden including raised beds in the front garden and additional beds on the nature strip. The front garden is managed as part of the Gnomes Farming Co-operative, which helps bring together people with unused land and people who want to grow food.
