Enjoy this recreation of the Box Hill Horticultural Society’s old style garden shows, which were a treasured event in days gone by. Floral arrangements, heirloom vegetables and historic exhibits will be on display. There will also be stalls by various gardening groups and speakers on a variety of gardening subjects. And there will be talks throughout:

  • 10.00am: welcome (Dr Gary Presland, historian).
  • 10.45am: ‘what to grow in one metre square’ (Urban Harvest).
  • 11.00am: ‘the joys of gardening’ (Bob Yeomans, Box Hill Hort. Soc.).
  • 11.40am: ‘cut and come again’ (Urban Harvest).
  • 12.10am: ‘heirloom fruit & vegetables (Urban Harvest).
  •   1.00pm: ‘bromeliads’ (Jill Abbott, Bromeliad Society of Victoria).
  •   2.30pm: ‘pollination’ (Max Campbell, Field Naturalists Club).
  •   3.30pm: prizes announced.

From 10.30am-12.30pm, Whitehorse Urban Harvest will be having a display.

This event is part of Heritage Week.
