8 sessions on various Sundays, from 2nd September to 9th December, each 10.30am-12.30pm.

Horticulturalist Elspeth Brock will take participants though organic gardening methods with hands on experience in a community garden plot at Pentridge Community Garden. The topics to be covered will include:

  • 02/09: Preparing good soil, design and planting seedlings.
  • 16/09: Raising seeds and propagating.
  • 30/09: Planning and the friendliness of companion planting.
  • 14/10: Watering, weeding, mulching and feeding.
  • 28/10: Compost and the like.
  • 11/11: Pest control and management.
  • 25/11: Harvesting.
  • 09/12: Cooking, rejuvenating beds and crop rotation.
