Edendale is partnering with gardeners from the Eltham South POD – a gardening group – and other keen local food gardeners to share tips for growing and preserving herbs. Participants are invited to join in by sharing some of their own skills and knowledge, seeds and cuttings.

Ideas on how we can contribute include:

  • Sharing any aspect of herbs with the group, some of whom may be new to gardening.
  • Bring any dried or fresh herbs you have, both to show people & to share and swap.
  • Or bring seeds, cuttings or clumps to be divided & planted and shared. Rachel can set up things via Edendale (pots, mix etc) for propagation.
  • Favourite herb books for browsing.
  • A herby afternoon tea item could be fun – or if someone has a herb scone recipe to share they can make it there – happy to buy the ingredients if there is a volunteer.
  • Rachel has cut some oregano and peppermint today for drying so you can strip some dry herbs for storage.
