Join a small group tour and see how Mim and Paul have created an attractive, functional garden which caters for many aspects of their lives: their growing family, entertaining and their passion for producing as much food as possible as sustainably as possible. The front garden boasts a beautiful E.caesia, from seed grown by Mim, surrounded by other low-maintenance and drought-tolerant ornamentals. These flowering plants provide nectar for the roof-top bee hive, active even in winter. Pollination is no problem for the many and varied fruit trees and veggies in the back. Excess and scraps from the abundant vegetable garden go to feed the chooks, which work through the compost bays in the chook area in an ingenious system. The vine-covered pergola is set off by a wood-fired oven built over a drystone wall, using reclaimed stone, all making for a lovely seated area for entertaining. The young family is not ignored with delightful play spaces incorporated amidst the garden.
