New Eltham Food Swap

The food swap will now be held on the fourth Sunday of each month at the LFC marquee within the Eltham Farmers’ Market. Come along at 10am with your excess home-grown/home-made produce and swap with others.The swap will finish at 11am. You can swap and shop at the same time!

Nillumbik Open Farm Day

Enjoy a day getting to know some of the local farmers. Follow the trail of nine farms who open their gates to the public to showcase a variety of farming including alpacas, beef farming and breeding, wine production, olive growing and production, violet and lavender growing, and of course fresh produce such as apples and pears. When: Sunday 27 April. Time: 10am-4pm.

Do we need a Local Food Act?

Dr Nick Rose from Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance is going to discuss this with Local Food Connect members and supporters on Wednesday, May 7, 6.45-9pm, at Nillumbik Health, Main Road, Eltham. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear about Nick’s conversations with senior food and agricultural officers and also the Urban and Regional Food Charter. You are all welcome to attend.
