Kate is a passionate gardener, cook and urban farmer. Inspired by the adventures of Tom and Barbara from ‘The Good Life’, Kate grows and tends a large veggie garden, raises chooks and keeps bees. Kate is a partner in The Urban Pear, a landscape architecture and permaculture design business which aims to draw connections between the landscape and the way we eat and live. Kate is experimenting with several weed management techniques for different situations including shading, smothering, free ranging guinea pigs and acceptance, with interesting results. Significant changes next door has meant re-thinking parts of the garden and has opened opportunities for new ideas and new plantings.
