Today I saw the film Julie and Julia at St Andrews’ Hall. What a fun film it was. It made me think about going through our Pick Share Eat recipe book, recently launched at the Wattle Festival! Last night I cooked the Broccoli and snow pea stir fry recipe, using quite a few ingredients from our garden. It was very tasty!
Those of you with an elderberry tree might find enough flowers to make elderberry wine or champagne. If you make it now it will be ready for Christmas.

A new diary date – November 25, 11am -3pm. You are invited to join us for a casual conversation around local food issues and opportunities at Red Box Winery in Kangaroo Ground. We have a barbeque booked that is covered by a shade sail that will protect us from minor climatic issues. Antipasto and cheese plates are available to purchase or bring a picnic. Cafe Eden is now open at Edendale Farm in Eltham. café eden sells direct trade coffee, homemade cakes, muffins, lemonade and other healthy food options using fresh, seasonal and unprocessed produce which are sourced locally and using organic where available. They are open each day for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for the next month after which time permanent trading hours will be decided.
